iPass Open Mobile delivers a service for enterprises that simply, securely and cost-effectively enables employees to be globally mobile from any device. Additionally, iPass Open Mobile provides access to the iPass Mobile Network, the world’s largest carrier-grade Wi-Fi network of more than one million hotspots including in-flight Internet, hotels, airports and business venues around the world.
“iPass has agreements in place with the world’s top hotspot vendors, enabling employees with corporate iPass accounts to access those networks without having to sign-in for an individual account or shell out a credit card for usage. It lets users easily find and connect to the nearest Wi-Fi hotspots that are part of the iPass Mobile Network and test the speed and quality of these networks, so they can always stay connected, while avoiding expensive international roaming fees as well as purchasing Wi-Fi day passes ― saving valuable time and increasing business productivity,” said Chris Witeck, senior director of product management, iPass. “iPass Open Mobile support for Windows 8 will allow enterprises ― who are rapidly adopting the recently released Windows 8 operating system ― to give their mobile workforce fast, secure, reliable connectivity virtually anywhere they roam.”
iPass Open Mobile enables organizations to provide mobile employees with seamless connectivity to the world’s largest commercial Wi-Fi network, providing a consistent user experience across smartphones, tablets and laptops while avoiding costly roaming charges and expensive Wi-Fi day passes. Organizations gain visibility into enterprise, group, individual and device mobility, and can easily control expenses and security to reduce the total cost of enterprise mobility.
