iPass Announces New Managing Director for UK, Ireland and SEMEA
Enterprise Mobility Leader Appoints Industry Veteran and Former Axway and Tumbleweed Executive
London, — January 26, 2010 — iPass® Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), a leading provider of enterprise mobility services, today announced that it has appointed Craig Whitney as its managing director for UK, Ireland and SEMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). With a wealth of experience spanning marketing and sales, Whitney has developed channel programmes and sales strategies which have contributed to the rapid growth of a number of software companies. Whitney will report to Nick Hulse, SVP of Worldwide Sales.
Before joining iPass, Whitney was vice president and managing director UK, Ireland and South Africa at Axway, an industry leader in Business Interaction Networks. As leader of the UK subsidiary of Axway, Whitney had overall responsibility for all Profit and Loss accounts, sales, marketing, and professional services.
Whitney joined Axway when it merged with Tumbleweed where he was managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa . Having been appointed in May 2007, Whitney oversaw the transformation of Tumbleweed’s business in EMEA. During his tenure, the company transitioned from a predominantly direct sales model to a predominantly indirect model which saw channel sales increase from 10 percent to 90 percent of total new business revenue within 18 months. Prior to this, Whitney was vice president EMEA sales for Scansafe, the global leader in software-as-a-service web security, where he was responsible for implementing a completely new channel and sales strategy.
