Unifying Connections

The iPass technology platform provides enterprise workers with a standardized way to connect wherever they need to work.

Mobile Broadband
The iPass technology platform unifies global broadband access through a Federated AAA architecture. Simply put, the platform acts as the clearinghouse for Internet logins between hundreds of provider networks and thousands of iPass enterprise customers. It unifies these diverse networks into a single entity while shielding sensitive enterprise and user information from third-party network providers.

This technology platform spans over 160 countries and includes Wi-Fi hotspots, wired Ethernet, mobile data and dial-up today, with the ability to add satellite, Wi-Max and other emerging technologies in the future. It enables iPass to deliver simple, ubiquitous and highly available access to remote workers worldwide.

Managed Network Services
Network connections to fixed work locations such as the home, branch offices or retail stores are also a part of the iPass technology platform. iPass brings together over 150 providers within the highly-fragmented cable and DSL Internet market, delivering a unified service covering all U.S. and Canadian locations. No longer do customers have to manage numerous discrete broadband services to connect their extended enterprises.

iPassConnect Mobility Manager
The iPassConnect™ mobility manager is the user interface that simplifies connectivity to Internet and corporate resources regardless of provider network or access type. The software's protocol-independent design combines a depth of technical functions including support for:

  • Multiple authentication protocols such as LDAP (via the RoamServer) and RADIUS
  • Wireless security standards such as GIS, WPA and WPA2
  • Auto-detection and auto-configuration of wireless communications cards
  • Integration with third-party VPN, anti-virus and personal firewall
  • Integration with iPass device management services

iPassConnect delivers a one-click connection process that includes login to the Windows desktop, access network, VPN and enterprise network.
