Etisalat Group to Offer International Roaming Wi-Fi Service from iPass

Wi-Fi roaming service will be made available to subscribers in Etisalat’s operating countries; service will be available on iPhone, iPad and Android-based devices

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., October 29, 2012: iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), the global Wi-Fi roaming leader for enterprises and telecom service providers, announced today that Etisalat (ADX: ETISALAT) – the Middle East’s largest telecom operator with over 167 million subscribers in its markets – has joined the iPass Open Mobile Exchange (iPass OMX) to  offer their consumer and enterprise customers a global Wi-Fi data roaming service.

With frequent international journeys, business travelers and families in the Middle East will be able to use their smartphones and tablets to get connected at over a million Wi-Fi hotspots in the global iPass network, at more affordable rates, fast connection speeds and more convenience.

Etisalat operates in 16 countries with over 167 million subscribers. The company initially expects to roll out the new service in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Nigeria in 2012, followed by other operating companies in their regions.
