- iPass maintains the enterprise-ready standards of its virtual network across all of its Wi-Fi access providers
- Every Wi-Fi provider on the iPass network is tested for enterprise-ready service availability, connection quality and security solution interoperability before it’s added to the footprint. This helps ensure a positive end-user experience while minimizing the IT help desk burden.
iPass has developed the Generic Interface Specification (GIS) to harmonize the authentication methods used by various access gateways and wireless Internet service providers. iPass providers comply with the GIS which protects against rogue access points, secures user credentials through an SSL tunnel from the client to the access gateway, and ensures VPN interoperability for corporate users.
