T-Mobile Agreement Unifies Mobile Data and iPass Services for European Customers
However, mobile data has always been its own island of access in Europe. Until now, companies have faced serious cost and complexity issues, including lack of standardized solutions, disparate connection experiences, high access rates, even higher costs for user support and a shortage of IT management control to name a few. iPass Expands 3G Reach Across the Continent To help enterprises bridge mobile data with their mobility strategies, iPass has recently signed agreements to extend the capabilities of the iPass Enterprise Mobility Platform by adding T-Mobile's 3G mobile data network in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. "These agreements give iPass a tremendous opportunity to meet the mobility needs of enterprise customers," commented Michael Wilkens, EVP of Wholesale and Multinational Partnerships for T-Mobile International. This 3G mobile data offering enhances iPass' existing Mobile Office service, which includes 30,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across Europe as well as its hotel Ethernet and dial-up access on the continent. iPass plans to continue extending its mobile data connectivity across Europe throughout 2007 and into 2008. Real Business Value That Makes a Real Difference The value of bringing the iPass Mobile Data solution to Europe encompasses a variety of corporate perspectives:
Why T-Mobile? T-Mobile's network coverage is among the best in Europe. In the UK, the cellular network covers more than 99 percent of the UK population. T-Mobile UK was also the first operator to roll out the new higher-speed HSDPA mobile broadband with speeds up to 1.8 Mbps. iPass customers will also be able to roam onto the networks of T-Mobile's roaming partners in Europe, where mobile data is supported. "By continuing to partner with tier-one providers such as T-Mobile in Europe, iPass is delivering on its commitment to provide enterprise customers with a diverse portfolio of advanced connectivity choices," said René Hendrikse, Managing Director, EMEA, iPass. Test the Waters Interested in trying the iPass Mobile Data service? Both existing and new iPass customers are eligible. Existing customers should contact their account manager for details.
