Wi-Fi access with iPass on East Midlands UK trains

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Rail passengers using East Midlands Trains services to London have been enjoying access to the internet via Wi-Fi access, whilst they travel, with the roll-out of the train operator’s brand new on board Wi-Fi service, which started in August. Good news for iPass customers, is that the service, offered by Nomad Digital, provides connection via iPass, making it fast and simple for users to connect for business while traveling.

From Nomad Digital’s website: Jayne Moyses, Sales Manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re constantly looking at how we can further improve our service and we know the launch of on board internet access will make a real difference for our passengers.”

In our Q310 Mobile Workforce Report, we reported on the vast number of mobile employees that stay connected. In looking at survey responses from Europe only, I can see that 90% of the survey respondents are connecting during vacation and 86% of the respondents use their smartphone for business, whether exclusively or mixed with personal. So imagine the need for connection when traveling on business.

Here’s another way as you travel in and out of London!
