What mobile devices you got for the holidays

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Over the holidays, we ran a poll on what mobile device you received; whether a gift or for yourself. I wanted to share the results.

Number 1: iPod Touch at 31%
Number 2: iPad at 22%
Number 3: iPhone at 20%

16% did admit to not getting anything. A few people also wrote in about other Android tablets, as we had specified the Galaxy Tab, and some are waiting for the Notion Ink Adam. However, the Apple devices far outweighed anything else, representing nearly 3/4 of the total. And this is regardless of the new Apple products coming soon!

We also asked about whether you were going to use the device for work only, personal-use only or a mixture. Few people responded as business-only, but the results fell nearly even in terms of Personal/Business (48%) vs Personal-only (42%). The iPod Touch and Macbook users are more likely to use their device for personal only (60%). Most devices fall around 50% for these usage modes, except for the iPad which is our highest result with a 70% mix of business and personal usage and a low of 26% of personal-only usage. One respondent made it clear that although they would be using their device for a mix of business and personal, it was mostly for personal use.

Now…how many of you are waiting for the new iPhone on Verizon? the new iPad? a new Android device? the Notion Ink Adam? After CES, the list just got longer.
