Stuck in DC? Here’s a sampling of iPass hotspots

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

As residents and travelers in Washington DC face another round of extreme weather, we thought we would provide a list of iPass hotspots in the DC area. For the hardy few that are venturing out, even for a block, there may be a location near you.

You can take shelter from the storm, catch up on email, peruse some newspapers, blog about how you are dealing with the storm, or upload some pictures of the horrendous conditions so that your friends in the warmer climes will see what “real weather” is.

Stuck in an airport?  Here are a couple of hotspots:

  • LH-Lounge Washington Dulles International Airport
  • DCA – Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

And if you MUST see the White House blanketed in snow, you can dash (carefully) around the corner for a hot coffee at one of the many Starbucks locations:

  • Starbucks (700 14TH ST NW): Be sure to check for others near your location.

Are you already safe and sound in your hotel? Or do you need a change of venue? Here are a few:

  • Marriott JW Hotel Pennsylvania Avenue: Enjoy the luxe atmosphere while staying in out of the wind. Avenue Grill has classic American fare.
  • Donovan House: Go for the sophisticated flare of this unique hotel. Pound away in the fitness center or enjoy ZENTAN restaurant, while the storm blows through.
  • Archstone Parc Vista: One of the many Archstone properties.

Do you just have to get out for a quick bite and connection?

  • McDonald’s: Locations all over the city.

Did you forget to stock up on books? Grab some for friends and family too:

  • Barnes & Noble: Login via iPass to find their wish list. Once you get safely home or to your hotel, no need to head out for awhile

Bundle up and be careful!
