Elizabeth Woyke, of Forbes, just published an article, called More Than 27 Percent Of Workers Considering Replacing Laptop With Tablet.
Getting a glimpse into our upcoming Mobile Workforce Report, she reports:
- “27.4% of “mobile workers” believe that tablets will replace laptops for general business use in the next year.”
- Asked whether they thought a device available today or in the next year could replace the laptop for general business use, 37.2% answered yes.
Many of us at iPass have been supplementing our productivity with iPads and we definitely see scenarios in which it’s the best tool for the situation.
Ms. Woyke also says that the figures may also bolster theories about tablet sales cutting into those of laptops and netbooks — a topic that has attracted widespread attention as more companies release tablets into the market.
