More hotspots including Reunion Island

Last week we announced that the iPass Mobile Network exceeds half a million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide. That’s a lot.
It’s always interesting to see what’s being added to the network. As mobile workers (and travelers in general), we are going to more places and expect consistent Wi-Fi connections. I will settle for a consistent Wi-Fi connection, rather than a good cappuccino.
Here are some interesting additions over the months. Depending on your next business trip, make sure to you remember to use iPass – at the airport, train station, hotel, or when getting pizza in Korea.
- 7-Eleven in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenzhen and Guangzhou
- Outback Steakhouse in Korea
- Papa John’s Pizza in Korea
- Hilton Yaounde in Cameroon
We added new places on Reunion Island (do you know where that is?). The name came in 1793 by a decree of the Convention with the fall of the House of Bourbon in France (that’s not Bourbon House in New Orleans). Besides being the westernmost part of the European Union, the island is home to The Piton de la Fournaise, a shield volcano on the eastern end of RĂ©union Island, sometimes called a sister to Hawaiian volcanoes because of the similarity of climate and volcanic nature.
- Novotel Saint-Gilles: short walk from Ermitage lagoon, one of the island’s most beautiful beach resorts
- La Fournais Restaurant
- Karemont Bon Restaurant
New in Cairo, Egypt (where I just returned for my kids’ spring break), are two more hotels:
- Hilton Zamalek Residence Cairo
- Moevenpick Cairo Media City
And, in the US, the Hampton Inn Suites should be a welcome addition. You can check out the
- Paso Robles (CA) Wine Festival, May 20-22, or the
- Ann Arbor (MI) Summer Festival.
- Memphis (TN) In May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest
