Getting connected in the Netherlands
Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 Karen Ambrose Hickey, EditorWhile the Netherlands ranks number one in the world for the highest number of fixed broadband services in the world, according to the OECD broadband rankings, it still has a way to go in the wireless world. Luckily, iPass has partnered with QWi Engineering BV which provides some of the key hotel and convention spots around the country with wireless access.
Michel Kuster, the managing director of QWi Engineering BV told us: “We have a number of hotspots throughout the Netherlands, as our solution continues to grow larger with hotspots in restaurants, hotels and other public places, allowing iPass customers to continue their business securely and hassle-free throughout the Netherlands.”
“The Dutch have high standards and expectations when it comes to connectivity so we made sure we partnered in great locations for iPass users.”
“If you want to make sure you’re connected with iPass while you travel to the Netherlands, stay at the Golden Tulip hotels. They have four-star properties with modern facilities, personal service and international standards of comfort that includes wireless connections that live up to the hotel standards. There are also the Regardz Hotels and convention centres that are the “ultimate business bubble” dotted throughout Amsterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht and Eindhoven.”
If you have a chance for any sightseeing while you are there, consider some of the following:
- The canals offer great opportunities for waterfront strolls or enjoying the views while you connect at one of the numerous open-air cafes, shopping or visiting aboard the floating markets.
- If you’re feeling generous there are always the diamond factories that offer insightful demonstrations of the art and science of cutting and transforming precious stones into much desired jewels.
- For a rich cultural experience there are three museums not to miss in Amsterdam: the Van Gogh Museum, the elegant Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank House.
Enjoy your time in the Netherlands and be sure to connect with iPass.
