Faster access to free Wi-Fi in Europe via OpenAccess
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 Karen Ambrose Hickey, EditorFree is free, right? Not really. That’s why we’ve added European free Wi-Fi hotspots to our OpenAccess service, giving our users over 20,000 safe, free Wi-Fi hotspots.
These free Wi-Fi locations include:
- Airports (such as Lisbon Airport and Vienna International Airport)
- Transportation hubs (such as London St. Pancras International Rail Station)
- Municipal Wi-Fi locations in Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Lisbon, London, Milan, Paris, Stockholm, Vienna and Tallinn, Estonia.
- As well as leading hotels, cafes, gyms, universities, and more.
These free, Wi-Fi hotspots, as part of the iPass network, are safe and validated, and simplified with the same iPass login. Users can safely connect to the internet and access corporate information, because these hotspots have been vetted, and the iPass client will run the same security policies and procedures before connecting.
With these additional hotspots, users avoid the pitfalls of “free”:
- Having to navigate walled garden web pages
- Disclose personal, time-consuming information
- Worry about unsafe networks
- Wait anxiously while the overloaded free Wi-Fi fulfills their request
- Miss out on sending that important email in-between flights
These added hotspots are now part of our iPass Mobile Network of over 260,000 hotspots. Find one today with our Hotspot Finder.
