Enterprise mobility: Android vs. iPhone – what to consider
Thursday, April 1st, 2010 Karen Ambrose Hickey, EditorAs much discussed, there are IT issues with iPhone and Android deployments in an Enterprise Mobility strategy. We’re comparing these two phones, because unlike Blackberry devices, the iPhone and Android are consumer devices first. So, if you are IT and you’re being asked to make recommendations on which devices your users should use, you also need to figure out how to support them. Should you recommend iPhone? Android? And how to manage them once you have them?
Here, I discuss the operating systems, software distribution, device types, feature variety, networks, carriers and what’s next. Stay tuned for my upcoming review on Apple’s iPad.

The Andoid is getting more desirable but it still lacks the finesse of the iPhone.
Great write up. The iPhone is truly amazing and I don’t like being without it. This time last year I had jumped in a pool with my iPhone and it was dead. I had to wait 9 days before I was able to get a new one. The phone I had was a cheap go phone. I really love all the apps that can be downloaded to the iPhone. The best part about the iPhone to me is the ability to check emails on the fly. Thanks for the information.
