Do you ever completely disconnect from technology?

Smartphone usage at the airportOur survey responses are coming in fast and furious for our Mobile Worker Report. After doing a check on the results, I got a good chuckle to some of the replies that people are sending in. We love the honesty!

Do you ever completely disconnect from technology, if so where, when and why?

RESPONSE: YES

  • When my kid was born. I disconnected from tech for a week
  • When I take a shower
  • When I’m asleep
  • yes when I am ill
  • When my wife is watching
  • church, 1 hour each week
  • On Skyline Drive – no service available – and keep it that way!
  • When canoeing in the wilderness with no access
  • vacation on Maldives in 2003
  • vacation; for inner peace
  • In sauna, every weekend, for relaxation
  • at home, after 10 pm, everyone needs rest
  • Vietnam in the villages when I visit family
  • When camping or fishing. It is nice to get back to basics.
  • When no coverage
  • when I go surfing, because I can
  • Overseas trip, connectivity is too spendy
  • only 1 to 2 days in a row when on vacation

  • I get bored easily. Its easier to entertain myself with email or RSS

  • I’m addicted although not 100%, maybe 90%
  • I am always connected to my iPhone no matter what happens …
