Connectivity at the “worst” airports

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

Flights cancelled in EuropeFrom USA Today, came this article: Travel guide ranks best, worst airport terminals

Frommers.com provided USA TODAY with its choices of best and worst airport terminals. One of our engineering directors showed me the article; he had a personal “worst” experience with the Manila airport. I had a “best” experience at Hong Kong, yet they are not on the list.

And for many business travelers, one snowstorm, hurricane, or yes, volcano (see the picture), can make any great terminal, the last place they would like to be on earth. But, for travelers that use iPass, at least you can get online faster and securely while stranded.

Frommer’s says the best and worst choices were based on cleanliness, services, on-time departures, navigation and the ease of getting to and from a city’s center. In case you are stuck in one of the “worst,” you can get connected easily from an iPass Wi-Fi connection at all but Amman. So, at least you can get ahead on some projects, check your flight status (will it ever leave?) or get online to tell everyone how miserable you are.

Worst:
1. New York JFK Airport Terminal 3
2. Manila (Philippines) Airport Terminal 1
3. Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal B/C
5. Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport, Terminal 3
6. Amman (Jordan) Queen Alia Airport
7. New York LaGuardia Airport Terminal 5
8. Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport
9. Paris’ Beauvais Airport
10. Chicago Midway Airport

Use our Hotspot Finder to make sure you have a connection wherever you go!
