Improving mobile worker productivity – a user perspective

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

The Hay Group is a global management consulting firm in 47 countries. It’s difficult to imagine a company with greater mobility needs. More than 60 percent of the company’s 2,600 employees are mobile users. The consultants need to stay connected and responsive to several clients at a time. While challenged to provide security, anytime and anyplace computing, the company was able to improve responsiveness and productivity, while reducing costs and strengthening security.

Our case study gives you an overview of the challenge and results. However, the videos (and podcast) give you the viewpoints from two types of users – the IT Director, who has to manage costs, while making his employees happy; and an end user, who is on the road and expects connectivity no matter where she is – hotel, baggage claim, client office. Their stories might give you some ideas on how to develop your enterprise mobility strategy.

Managing enterprise mobility requires a lifecycle approach

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Managing mobile connectivity used to be simple. employees are now demanding anytime, anywhere access to information without concerns for potential compliance, security, or cost implications.

This requires a comprehensive lifecycle management approach, where IT can manage users through an efficient process for provisioning, updating, and eventually decommissioning users, devices, and services on a continual basis within the context of constantly evolving technology.

This whitepaper (and executive summary podcast) will take you through some of the concerns today, but more importantly, the steps that you can take to launch your enterprise mobility initiative.
