Tour the iPass Open Mobile Portal – control is in your hands
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 Dave Gutierrez, Sr. Training Manager
Take a few minutes and see how our iPass Open Mobile Portal gives control and visibility into your mobility management. In this video, I give you a quick overview of the interface and how you can build, test and deploy your own user profiles, based on your business.
To give you an overview, the iPass Open Mobile Platform is a cloud-based service that powers iPass Enterprise Mobility services (more video tours coming soon!) and gives your company an amazing choice in devices, networks and services to support your enterprise mobility needs. You can mix and match, helping you keep up with the pace of innovation (what’s coming out next!?) without an investment in infrastructure or risk of technology or carrier lock-in.
The iPass Open Mobile Platform comprises three primary components:
- iPass Open Mobile Client is always-on lightweight software that runs on the mobile device. It orchestrates policy-based Internet and corporate access, collects and transmits data from the device to iPass systems, and interfaces with other client software as needed.
- iPass Open Mobile Portal is a Web-based management interface that provides control without complexity. It gives IT staff visibility, control and a high degree of automation in managing the full lifecycle of all iPass services.
- iPass Service Fabric is the highly available, secure and scalable cloud-based infrastructure designed to deliver iPass service functions, from network authentication to software distribution, configuration updates and service maintenance.
Next week, I will begin posting some video tours of our various services. If you are interested in finding out more about the Open Mobile Platform, you can:
