Marcio Avillez, Vice President of Network Services

As vice president of network services, Marcio Avillez leads one of the world’s largest commercial-grade Wi-Fi networks with over 1.1 million Wi-Fi venues. He is responsible for managing relationships globally with Wi-Fi operators, mobile carriers and fixed line operators whose services iPass bundles in with its managed mobility solutions. He also leads the iPass Open Mobile Exchange product team, focused on creating solutions for service providers worldwide.

Prior to joining iPass in 2009, Avillez spent more than a decade in the telecom industry developing and delivering innovative telecom solutions for Fixed and Mobile operators. At Level 3 Communications he lead a new products team responsible for launching and incubating new network services within the company’s Wholesale Markets Group and successfully launched a new line of business. Avillez has also held product management, marketing and business development positions with Level 3, US West Communications (now Qwest), 360 Networks and MCI.

He holds a MBA from Georgetown University, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from American University where he graduated Cum Laude.
